Public Events & Outreach & Charity

One of the core tenants of Freemasonry is Charity and giving back to the communities we live in. Around the world, Freemasons give three million ($3,000,000) dollars a day to charity.

The Masonic bodies of the Grand Valley give back to the community in many ways. If you have any questions about our public services please contact us at info@masonicfamilygj.org.

Scholarships

Each of the Masonic Lodges in the Grand Valley, and the Grand Lodge of Colorado offers a scholarship to students going to a college or vocational school in Colorado. Please see our scholarship page for more information on our Masonic Scholarships.

School Awards Ceremony

Each year we hold a Scholastic Awards Ceremony where we recognize outstanding students and teachers, selected by the schools, from around the Grand Valley. You can see pictures from our School Awards Ceremonies here.

Masonic Band Camp

Each summer 9th, 10th, and 11th-grade band students selected by their band teacher, gather from around the state at the University of Northern Colorado campus in Greeley for fun, music, and fellowship. The band camp culminates in a concert on July 3rd and marching in the Greely Stampede Parade.

The cost of the band camp is paid for by scholarships from the Masonic Lodges around the state of Colorado. The only cost to the students and their families is the travel to and from Greely.

You can learn more about the Masonic Band Camp at the Grand Lodge of Colorado’s website here.

Child ID Kit

According to the Colorado Bureau of Investigations, 39 children go missing across Colorado each day. In this time of crisis, it is important to have an accurate description of your child, fingerprints, and a recent photo to aid the police in returning your child to you. To aid in this the Masons offer free Child ID Kits to parents.

The kits include biographic information about your child, a full set of fingerprints, and a photo. All information about the child is erased as soon as the kit is completed, and the kits are free.

RiteCare

The Scottish Rite RiteCare Program is a program that helps children with speech, language, and literacy problems. Founded right here in Colorado this program now spreads across the United States. You can find more information on RiteCare or make a donation here.

Shrine Hospital for Children

You may not know that the guys wearing the funny hats driving the small funny cars or dressed up as clowns are Freemasons but they are. Shriners and the Shrine Hospital for Children offer a variety of services including burn care, orthopedics, and many other services.
